Junior School Curriculum
At Millenba, students in Years 7–10 engage in a broad and balanced curriculum aligned with the Australian Curriculum Version 9.0. Our curriculum is designed to support students to build strong foundations in knowledge, skills and understanding across a range of learning areas, while also fostering confidence, independence and a sense of purpose in their learning.
Students access learning across core subject areas including English, Mathematics, Science and Humanities and Social Sciences, alongside opportunities in Health and Physical Education (including Respectful Relationships), The Arts (Drama and Visual Art), and Technologies (Food Technology and Project Based Learning). Learning experiences are tailored to meet the diverse needs of our students, with a focus on engagement, relevance and real-world application.
Senior School Curriculum
Our Senior School offers a range of educational pathways designed to support individualised learning programs and enable students to work towards the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE). Students can access Short Courses in Literacy and Numeracy, as well as a range of Vocational Education and Training (VET) options, including Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways (FSK), Certificate II in Active Volunteering, and Certificate II in Functional Literacy.
Senior students may also engage in additional learning opportunities through external providers as part of their individual learning plans. This can include participation in TAFE@School programs, university preparation courses, or further VET qualifications. Students may also undertake School-Based Traineeships (SBTs) or School-Based Apprenticeships (SBAs), providing valuable pathways into employment.
To support re-engagement and the development of real-world skills, the school offers a range of practical learning opportunities such as Barista short courses and First Aid/CPR certification. These experiences help students build confidence, strengthen social skills, and apply their learning in authentic contexts. Students may also access work experience opportunities within the wider community as part of their personalised program.
